Due to the greed and selfish behavior of VRA agent Dillan Buettner, my family is now on the verge of homelessness. To Dillan, clients are merely tools to achieve his personal goals. He shows no concern for the serious consequences his actions can have on the people who trust him. Throughout the home-buying process, Dillan repeatedly pressured us to submit offers and pay more than we should have, even for properties that were unsuitable for our family. He frequently contradicted himself—saying one thing one day and reversing his words the next—leaving us confused and financially vulnerable. Once his actions put us in a difficult position and we spoke up, he simply walked away, treating us as if we were disposable and had never mattered to him. A real estate agent’s responsibility is to protect their clients’ interests. Dillan did the opposite. His sole focus appeared to be closing a deal and collecting a commission, regardless of whether his clients lost their life savings or faced severe hardship as a result. He showed no concern that his actions could leave a family with children displaced and without stable housing during freezing winter conditions. If confronted, Dillan predictably denies wrongdoing, shifts blame onto clients, and portrays them as the problem. He refuses to accept responsibility and instead changes his narrative after clients have already lost thousands of dollars. In his mind, he is never wrong. Edit: VRA Realty has not responded to my emails, so I am sharing my experience publicly. During the transaction, Dillan consistently acted against our interests. He did everything possible to inflate the purchase price and pressure us into spending more than we could afford. When I realized what was happening and decided to quit the process to protect my family, he retaliated by smearing my character and labeling me as “rude.” Dillan showed no understanding or compassion for the fact that I have children with disabilities and an elderly mother who requires medical care. He expected me to exhaust all my financial resources for the purchase, regardless of how that would affect my family’s health and well-being. When I refused to sacrifice my family’s medical needs for his commission, he became hostile and insulting, calling me irrational and attempting to exert control over my decisions. Although Dillan did receive a large commission from the transaction, it was never enough for him. In his view, client well-being is irrelevant. When clients stand up for themselves and prioritize their family’s health over his financial gain, he responds by degrading them and spreading false narratives to minimize the harm he caused. After all the stress and suffering his actions inflicted on my family, Dillan continues to downplay the damage and fabricate stories to protect himself. This experience has shown a complete lack of integrity, accountability, and basic human decency.
